Chittagong Bureau :Cox’s Bazar CorrespondentA former Awami League leader was killed and his son injured when a covered van rammed into their motorcycle at Khunia Palang area on the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf road in Ukhia upazila on Thursday night.The dead was identified as Abu Taher, 46, former organising secretary of Ukhia upazila and former member of Ratna Palang Union Parishad.Witnesses said, a ice cream-bound covered van rammed into a motorcycle in the area around 10:15pm, leaving Abu Taher dead on the spot and his son critically injured. Injured Rezaul Karim, 10, was admitted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital.Members of Tulabagan Highway Police outpost recovered the body.
