Advisory council member of Manikganj district Awami League (AL) and former lawmaker from the Manikganj-2 constituency Shamsuddin Ahmed died while undergoing treatment at a hospital here on Sunday.
He was 75, said an AL press release here.
Shamsuddin left behind his wife, two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
Prime Minister and Awami League president Sheikh Hasina on Sunday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Awami League advisory council member of Manikganj district and former MP of Manikganj-2 constituency Samshuddin Ahmed.
She prayed for the eternal salvation of the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
