Canadian University of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Chapter of AsianSIL jointly organized the ‘National Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition 2016’ on International Humanitarian Law. Law departments/faculties of 23 public and private universities participated in the competition. The Moot Court Team of East West University (EWU) participated in the competition consisting of Md. Pizuar Hossain, Jannatul Shareat Disha and Tyaba Tasmeen. Prof Tureen Afroz of the Department of Law, East West University was the team coach.
It may be mentioned that EWU Moot Court Team remained unbeatable in all the rounds of the competition they participated. And the team won the ‘Best Research Team Award’. The sitting judges of the High Court Division and the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh adjudicated various rounds of the competition.
Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson, Board of Trustees of EWU and Prof Dr MM Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor of EWU congratulated to the winning team for achieving the excellence award with the short time after established the department.
