EWU students urged to work with patriotism

A.K. M. Mozammel Huq, MP, Minister, Ministry of Liberation War Affairs advised fresh graduates that moralities, responsibilities, skills, professionalism, and patriotism should be the guiding spirits of their future. The Minister advised those in the 18th Convocation of East West University (EWU), as the representative of the President of Bangladesh.
The event took place at EWU campus, Aftabnagar, Dhaka on Wednesday. A total of 2073 undergraduate and graduate students conferred degrees and eight of them were awarded gold medals for outstanding results.
The Convocation Speaker, Professor Dr. Yasmeen Haque, Department of Physics, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Sylhet, said in her speech that Bangladesh is now turning into a country with the capacity to meet all expectations. Universities here are not only distributing knowledge to students but also creating new sectors of knowledge. She referred too to recent research conducted in SUST in case of identifying cancer.
Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh was the Special Guest on the occasion.
The members of the Board of Trustees, Pro-Vice Chancellor, the Treasurer, Deans, chairpersons of the departments, teachers, staff, graduating students and their parents attended the convocation ceremony.
