Department of Information Studies and Library Management, East West University (EWU) organized a week-long program on Global Media and Information Literacy Week, 2019. Global Media and Information Literacy Week observed worldwide by UNESCO every year on 24 to 31 October science 2013. The week-long program which is organized by EWU inaugurated with a seminar on 24 October 2019 at the EWU campus, Aftabnagar in the city. The keynote speaker of the seminar was Beatrice Kaldun, Head of Dhaka Office of the UNESCO.
Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Advisor of EWU and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank was the chief guest of the seminar while AZM Shafiqul Alam, Treasurer of EWU was the special guest. Dr Dilara Begum, Chairperson, Department of Information Studies and Library Management of EWU, chaired the program. At the seminar, the speakers emphasized the proper use of information. Faculty members, students, admin staffs from different departments of EWU were also present at the seminar.
