EWU Law Club arranges seminar on ‘Proclamation of Independence’

East West University (EWU) Law Club organized a seminar titled “Proclamation of Independence: Sovereignty and Emergence of Bangladesh” on Sunday afternoon at the university’s Aftabnagar in the capital.
Prof Dr Tureen Afroz, Chairperson, Department of Law, EWU was the keynote speaker on the seminar. She delivered an insightful speech on the significance of the Proclamation of Independence for the sovereignty and emergence of this country. She stated that Proclamation of Independence is a historical document and spirit of the freedom loving people of our country.
The program was graced by the presence of Freedom Fighter Ferdousy Priyovashini and Shahin Reza Nur, son of the Martyred Intellectual Journalist Sirajul Islam. Ferdousy Priyovashini expressed in her speech that she is the witness of every single day of 1971. With hope, she asked the youth participant students to take the responsibility of protecting the independence that we gained through the bloodshed. Shahin Reza Nur expressed his joy for the fair justice and punishments of war criminals and collaborators.
He highlighted the importance to protect the correct history of the war and the obstacles on the way of protecting the spirit of independence along with appreciated the participants to use their best potential to uphold the dignity of our motherland.
Adity Rahman Shah, Moderator of EWU law Club and Lecturer of the Department of Law also spoke on the occasion. A large of faculty and students from the department of Law were present on the seminar.
