Germany based chemical giant Evonik Industries has taken up necessary initiatives to supply DL-Methionine, an essential element for producing poultry feed to different countries directly from its newly established plant at Singapore that will work towards expansion of the poultry feed sector in many countries, including Bangladesh, speakers at a programme has said.
“Evonik is working towards increasing its production capacity of DL-Methionine and is expecting to supply the methionine from its newly established plant at Singapore at the end of this year,” the company’s vice president Nicholas Guthier has said.
The capacity increase of DL-Methionine, which is an amino acid used in advanced animal nutrition and establishment of new plant will help towards expansion of the poultry businesses through distribution of health and environment friendly animal nutrition, he added.
“The initiatives will help importers to import DL Methionine from Singapore directly which will take less time, and will ultimately contribute towards developing the poultry industry of Bangladesh”, he also said.
The Evonik official made the observation while addressing at a technical seminar titled ‘Economic Impact of Choosing the Right Methionine Source’ at Hotel Ruposhi Bangla on Thursday.
Evonik (SEA) Pte Ltd., Singapore and their local agent Broadways Chapmen Ltd, Dhaka has jointly organised the seminar in the wake of growing criticism against the low quality poultry feeds and medicines.
Evonik technical managers Sheila Heidi M Ramos, Dr. Kartik Masagounder, Broadways Chapmen Limited Managing Director Syed Jamal Uddin Haider also spoke at the seminar.
