The benefits of EVM voting, will of the political leadership, said Md. Alamgir, EC Senior Secretary.
He further said that in the upcoming Chittagong City Corporation elections, voting will be taken by EVM system in 100% of the centers. One thousand eight hundred EVM machines will be used in this election.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a training program for polling officers (Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers, Polling Officers) on the occasion of Gafargaon Municipality elections in Mymensingh’s Gafargaon Upazila on Tuesday (December 23) afternoon.
Gafargaon Municipality Election Returning Officer and Government Returning Officer initiated a two-day training program for polling officers at the local Khairullah Government Girls High School on Tuesday.
Among others, on the occasion Mymensingh Deputy Commissioner Md. Mizanur Rahman, Mymensingh Regional Election Officer Md. Alimuzzaman, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Tajul Islam, Municipal Election Returning Officer and District Election Officer Md. Sarwar Jahan, Assistant Returning Officer and Upazila Election Officer Shamsun Nahar were present.
EVM voting will be held on December 28 in Gafargaon municipality election. Voting will be held in 10 centers of the municipality by EVM system.
