Electronic Voting Machines will be used in four wards’ 11 centres in Barishal City Corporation polls. primary work has been done, and now the polling officials would be trained within short time.
Md Helal Uddin, Barishal District Senior Election Officer and Assistant Returning Officer of BCC polls, told it.
He said that electronic voting machines would be used in two centres of Ward No.12, three centres of Ward No. 20, three centres of Ward No. 21 and three centres of Ward No. 28.
Helal Uddin said, Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury will come to Barishal on July 21. After his arrival, the training will start.
He further said, the Election Commission has decided to use Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) considering the distance from the center and the education rate in the ward.
There are 24,806 voters of these four wards.
