Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam said a section of evil genius are criticizing the ongoing drive of the present government to root out the militancy from the society.
“Bangladesh follows the method of other countries to root out militancy . .
And it is the best way to face the terrorists and militant forces,” he said this on Saturday while speaking at a discussion of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Parishad (BBFMP) at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity (DRU) at Segunbagicha in the capital.
The minister said mass people are now well-aware of the vested quarter which criticizes all steps of the present government on the militant issue and they are the followers of the defeated forces of 1971.
BBFMP organized the discussion on the occasion of 41st martyrdom day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the national
mourning day, with its president Prof Dr. Abdul Mannan Chowdhury in the chair.
Referring to different brutal and barbaric incidents of 1971 Liberation War, 1975, grenade attack on August 21 and subsequently the Gulshan caf, and Sholakia militant attacks, Quamrul said all the attacks were almost similar and no difference would be found here.
“All those have proved that the anti-Liberation War forces carried out the attacks . . . and BNP leadership is behind the scene,” Quamrul added.
Referring to the Bangabandhu murder case, he said if Zia was alive today, he would have been charged for the killing of Bangabandhu.
Awami League Advisory Council Member and president of the Supreme Court Bar Council Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun, general secretary of Dhaka city south unit of AL Shahe Alam Murad, Bangladesh Chhatra league president Saifur Rahman Sohag and Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote general secretary Arun Sarker Rana, among others, took part in the discussion.
