BSS, Dhaka :
Dhaka City Awami League general secretary and Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya (Bir Bikram) on Tuesday said BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia would not succeed whatever might be her conspiracy against the ruling party. “The government came to power following the constitution and it (government) would not deviate from the laws of the constitution. The next national polls will be held in 2019 in accordance with the constitution,” he said.
Maya said this while speaking at a discussion in the city. The Muktijoddha Projanma League, an organisation of the wards of freedom fighters, organised the discussion followed by a milad and doa mahfil at Awami League central office at Bangabandhu Avenue in celebration of the 69th birthday of Awami League president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. President of the host organisation Fatema Jalil Sathi presided over the discussion, also addressed, among others, by Dhaka City Awami League vice-president Faezuddin Miah, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote general secretary Arun Sarker Rana and a central leader of the organisation Rokon Uddin Pathan.
Maya said BNP, in league with Jamaat, unleashed vandalism, torched private and public properties, set fire to the holy Quran and mosque in the name of movement prior to the last national polls in their bid to jeopardise democracy and the process of development.
