Doctors of Forensic Department of the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital found evidence of rape after forensic test on a Dhaka University student.
Talking to reporters at the hospital Sohel Mahmud, assistant professor and also the chief of the Forensic Department said evidence of rape was found after conducting forensic test on the victim.
“Finger spots were found on the neck and there were several injury marks on the hands and legs of the victim. The rapist might have tried to strangle her after rape,” he said.
Besides, a seven-member medical board, headed by Dr Salma Rouf, Head of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, was formed for providing treatment to the victim.
The second year female student of Dhaka University was allegedly raped in the city’s Kurmitola area on Sunday night.
The victim is now undergoing treatment at the One-Stop Crisis Centre(OSCC) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Classmates of the victim said she had been picked up by an unidentified man after she got down from the university bus around 7pm and was made unconscious.
Later, the miscreant took her to a nearby place and raped her.
The victim regained consciousness around 10pm and contacted her classmates. She was admitted to DMCH around midnight.
Meanwhile, the victim’s father filed a case at the Cantonment Police Station, said Officer-in-Charge SahanHaque.
