Mobile court of Chittagong City Corporation again enforced eviction drive against the illegal billboards from the city road from yesterday morning. The drive was launched from 9.30 am yesterday from the Solasahar No.2 gate.
Following the directives of the newly elected Mayor AJM Nasiruddin, this drive relaunched after six months. In the meantime, city magistrate Nazia shirin asked the owners of the bill board to remove their bill boards by 31 May last and hence City corporation begins eviction drive from yesterday. Mentionable that newly elected Mayor in a meeting with the revenue department officials of CCC on May 25 last, ordered to evict these illegal bill boards within the specific time. Corpotation sources said 219 advertising agencies of the port city were permitted to erect 6,170 billboards including 3,964 billboards in respective personal lands and others permitted in Rail and Port areas.
