A minority family of Abdullahpur village under Fatikchari upazila alleged that an influential land grabbers trying to evict them from their paternal properties .
In this connection, family members of Dr. Ranjit Kumar Roy arranged a press conference yesterday morning for alleged eviction threat by the miscreants.
The press meet was told that a number of miscreants vandalized their kutcha houses on May 7 last .
Dr. Ranjit later went to local police station for lodging a complaint but police did not accept their complaint. Now the family members of Dr. Ranjit are passing days insecurity . Son of the complainant Rupan Roy read out the written statement before the newsmen in the press meet. The press was told that the land grabbers group demanded Tk.20 lakh from them otherwise they will not be permitted to construct houses in the land. The miscreant group with some hired men looted some construction materials from the site of the house, press meet added.
Among others, wife of Dr. Ranjit Sapna Roya, Rubel Roy and Joint Secretary of Hindi Buddha Christian Oikya Parishad Dr. Bidan Mitra were present in the dais of the the press meet.
