Md Altaf Hussain :
We all have busy lives and it can be difficult to find the time to do things for ourselves and relax. Often when life gets busy any hobbies, interests or passions we have get dropped.
Hobbies are indeed essential in our life. Having a hobby that we enjoy brings us joy and enriches our lives. It gives us something fun to do during our leis hobbies are indeed essential in our life. Having a hobby that we enjoy brings us joy and enriches our lives. It gives us something fun to do during our leisure time and affords us the opportunity to learn new skills.
Increase your confidence and self-esteem
Taking up a new hobby that you have a genuine passion and interest in is naturally going to make you happier. It will give you something to look forward to every day and will break up a monotonous routine.
Not to mention, the satisfaction you will feel for developing a new skill, talent or learning about a new topic will seriously boost your confidence and self-esteem. There’s nothing better than feeling proud of your accomplishments no matter how small and taking up a hobby will allow you to feel that more often.
Hobby helps develop new skills
It helps you develop new skills. A hobby that you really dedicate your time to will lead you to build new skills. As you spend more time at your hobby you will become better and better at it.
It increases your knowledge. Along with building new skills, you will also gain new knowledge through the development of your hobby.
Cope with stress
Hobbies help you cope with stress. Imagine a rough day at the office, where you were harshly criticized by your boss. Coming home and turning on the TV may provide a brief distraction, but it doesn’t address your damaged ego head-on. Now imagine that after work you head out to your soccer league or pottery class. These activities are more than merely distracting. They remind you that that are many facets to your self-concept. Employee, yes, but also athlete or artist. As such, a blow to one aspect of your identity is less damaging.
Helps keep your brain healthy
Just because you’re finished with formal education doesn’t mean you should stop learning. There’s always more to learn and doing so will ensure that your brain stays sharp. After all, your brain needs a workout just as much as your body.
So make the most of your free time and start learning more about something you’ve always had an interest in.
Maybe you’ve always wanted to become fluent in a second language, learn how to play an instrument or learn more about astronomy.
Hobby can help your social life
Having a hobby can help your social life and create a bond with others. A hobby is something that you can frequently enjoy with other people. Whether you join a club or just gift others with the fruits of your labor, a hobby is a great way to meet and get closer to people who have the same interests as you do.
Good for mental health
Having an interest that is separate to work is hugely beneficial for your mental health. It’s a great way to relieve stress and re-centre yourself.
A hobby can help keep your priorities straight and remind you that work isn’t everything.
Prevent bad habits
It helps prevent bad habits and wasting time. There is an old saying that ‘idle hands are the devil’s workshop.’ If you have good hobbies to fill up your free time, then you will be less likely to spend that time on wasteful or negative activities.
