A Dhaka court yesterday asked the Investigation Officer of a fraud case to quiz Evaly founder and CEO Mohammad Rassel at the jail gate.
Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque passed the order on Thursday. The fraud case was filed against Rassel with Gulshan Police Station in the capital.
Earlier, the Investigation Officer of the case produced the accused in the
ACMM Court and pleaded to keep him behind bar. Meanwhile, police sought five days’ fresh remand of Rassel in another case filed with Dhanmandi Police Station.
On September 16, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Mohammad Rassel, the Managing Director of E-Commerce site Evaly, and his wife Shamima Nasrin, amid allegations that the company embezzled funds collected from its customers.
