The much-awaited inauguration of the classes at the permanent campus of Eastern University (EU) came to reality as Abdullah Al Hasan Chowdhury, Additional Secretary (Universities), Ministry of Education declared the opening of classes at the permanent campus of EU at Savar, Dhaka. Later he visited the classes and highly appreciated the initiatives taken by the authorities of EU to inaugurate classes at the Permanent Campus in compliance with the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission.
In the presence of hundreds of students and faculty members from all the departments of the university, members of the Board of Trustees, Officials, and other staff members, the inauguration program turned into a festival for the decade old top-ranked private university. Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Engr. Kh. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed announced that all modern facilities will be available at the Permanent Campus and students will feel more than at home in the lovely natural surroundings of the campus. Vice Chancellor (Acting) Prof. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam assured that Eastern University will become one of the best seats of higher learning in the region with its continued commitment towards quality in education. The Treasurer, Deans of Faculties, the Registrar, Chairpersons, Program Directors and other high officials also spoke on the occasion. The inauguration program was held on the first of the several academic buildings of the university. The complete campus project includes spacious football and cricket field, a large auditorium, library, residence accommodation for faculty members, officials, and separate dormitories for male and female students on a sprawling 20 bighas land. Eastern University is recognized as one of the leading private universities in Bangladesh, much known for its quality educations in its chosen fields of education with a motto to become one of the best universities in South Asia. The University attracts talented and experienced faculty members for imparting quality education to its students at an affordable cost with a view to prepare them succeed in their careers and contribute significantly to nation building.
