Ekushey Television (ETV) Chairman Abdus Salam made confessional statement in a sedition case filed with the Tejgaon Police Station, to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Monday.
Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan recorded the confessional statement of the ETV Chairman after he was produced to the court at noon on the day. Recording of the statement begun at 1.48 pm and that was ended in the afternoon. Later, he was sent to the jail.
On January 9, a Dhaka court placed Abdus Salaam a five-day remand in the
case filed for sedition. Earlier, on January 6, Detective Branch of Police arrested Abdus Salam from his office in the case filed under the Pornography Act 2012 for telecasting an alleged false report about a woman in a programme named Ekusher Chokh two months ago.
