Bangladesh Press Council organised a view exchange meeting with local journalists of different print and electronic media at Narsingdi Circuit House here on Wednesday last.
 Chairman of Bangladesh Press Council Justice Muhammed Mamtaj Uddin Ahmed attended the meeting as Chief Guest with Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi Abu Hena Morshed Zaman in the chair.
Police Super of Narsingdi Sheikh Rafiqul Islam and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Suriaya Begum were also present in the meeting as special guests
Secretary of Bangladesh Press Council Shyamol Chandra Karmaker delivered the welcome address. He also conducted the meeting.
A total of 60 journalists of different national dailies, news agencies, local dailies, weeklies and electronics media participated in the meeting.
The meeting discussed Press Council Act -1974 and the conducting rule of journalists The meeting also discussed various problems of the local journalists.
The Chief Guest Justice Momtaz Uddin said, the journalists are the conscience of the nation and they have to maintain the ethical standard of journalism. They should not publish any news detrimental to national integrity, independence, sovereignty and Constitution of Bangladesh.
