Issuing a warning to his defying party men who took part in the January 5 polls without his consent, Jatiya Partychairman HM Ershad on Wednesday urged them to ‘come back’ to avert dumping into the dustbin.”Those who want sever ties, I’m telling them again to return to us and those who want to see good days in the future return to us, or else, you’ll be dumped into the dustbin,” he said. The former military dictator said this while addressing a views-exchange meeting with the party’s district-level leaders at a community centre at Gulshan in the city. The party chief observed that the party is now in crisis. There are 34 MPs from the Jatiya Party in the 10th parliament. Of them, 30 were absent at the meeting.Pointing at the absence of the MPs from the party, Ershad said that it is not proper to forget about ‘Plough’ after taking part in the election with the symbol.Pointing at the district-level leaders he said, “Identify those who took part in the 10th parliamentary polls ignoring the party chairman’ s decision.”At the meeting, the Jatiya Party chairman said, “I’ve many things to say but I can’t tell now. I can’t clearly tell now why I didn’t take part in the polls, but I’ll tell it later.”Assuring its leaders and activists, Ershad said that the party will get stronger and take part in the next polls.
