Allegations gallore agsint Jatiya Party chairman H M Ershad, special envoy to the Prime Minister, for running campaign in favour of his party-backed candidate in the upcoming city corporation polls, violating electoral code of conduct .
Defying the directive of the EC, the former military dictator on Tuesday night joined the election campaign for mayor candidate Saifuddin Ahmed Milon at Mouchak in the city.
Earlier on Monday, the
EC gave the directive to ERshad not to take part in the election campaign. EC issued the directives at a time when he attended campaigns at Sutrapur, Shyambazar, Banglabazar, Sadarghat, English road, Dholaikhal of old Dhaka.
