Erosion of Arialkha and Palardi rivers have been intensified at Char Diashur area in Gournadi Upazila of Barishal after cyclone Fani.
Due to that erosion crop lands, houses of local residents and Miar Char launch station severely endangered, after visiting the area local journalists told.
Khaleda Nasrin, Gournadi upazila nirbahi officer, visiting the area told after creating and crossing Cyclone Fani in the region condition of Arialkha and Palari Rivers became very rough. People of the endangered area would be given shelter at local cyclone shelters, if necessary. Upazila administration providing food and emergency relief items to the people of the affected area.
Information about the situation monitoring regularly and sending to local law maker Abul Hasnat Abdullah and officials of Water Development Board for taking necessary actions, said Kamrunnahar Mary, upazila chairman of Gournadi visiting affected the area and distributing relief.
