Erosion of mighty River Padma has devoured vast areas including dwelling houses and croplands under Ramkrishnapur Union of Harirampur upazila in the district.Kamal Hossain, Chairman of Ramkrishnapur Union told BSS that about 200 houses including haat and bazaars of Ramkrishnapur, Darikandi and Jagannatpur have already been disappeared by the erosion of the River Padma in the last fortnight.
The homeless people have taken shelter on roadsides and into the houses of their relatives and neighbours.
UP chairman Kamal Hossain also said that they are preparing a
list of affected families.
