The minister said these while addressing a national conference on “Skills and Future of Work at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) on Thursday. The conference was jointly organized by UNICEF, Action Aid and a2i.
Presided over by ICT Division Senior Secretary N M Zeaul Alam, the conference was also addressed by State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian, State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak and former Chief Coordinator for SDG Affairs of Prime Minister’s Office and Generation Unlimited in Bangladesh President Md Abul Kalam Azad, among others.
“We should not downplay any profession. We have to ensure employment alongside timely education in all the sectors. We would provide all kinds of support including getting loans for the entrepreneurs,” Begum Monnujan Sufian said.
State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak in his speech emphasized on e-learning in education, saying, “We need to introduce e-learning by coming out of the mold of traditional methods of education”. Generation Unlimited in Bangladesh President Md Abul Kalam Azad stressed ensuring vocational course for all the students by 2021. “If we can send trained workers abroad, the remittance inflow will go up manifold, which will also brighten the image of Bangladesh in global arena,” he added.
