The visiting European Parliament (EP) delegation called on Chairperson of Commonwealth Parliamentary
Association and Speaker of Bangladesh Parliament Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury at her
Parliament Secretariat office on Thursday.
Jean Lambart led the four-member EP delegation during the meeting, said a handout.
During the meeting, the Speaker apprised the visiting team of the proceedings of the Bangladesh Parliament. She said the parliamentary activities in Bangladesh are being run following the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of Parliament. There is transparency and accountability in its activities, she added.
Dr Shirin said the current parliament is more vibrant and active than any other in the past.
