The newly appointed envoys of Cyprus, Serbia and Uruguay to Bangladesh presented their credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban here on Wednesday.
The all non-resident envoys are High Commissioner of Cyprus Dometrios A. Theophylactou, Ambassador of Serbia Vladimir Maric and Ambassador of Uruguay Carlos E. Orlando Bonet, President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.
Welcoming the high commissioner and ambassadors, the President hoped that Bangladesh’s relations with Cyprus, Serbia and Uruguay would be strengthened further during their tenure here.
During the meeting, the new envoys lauded the role of Bangladesh peacekeepers in the UN peacekeeping missions and hoped that the role of Bangladesh peacekeepers would be expanded in future.
Earlier on their arrival at Bangabhaban, the envoys were given guard of honour separately by a contingent of the President’s Guard Regiment.
