Country’s first division level Environment Olympiad titled “Protection of Environment is the Protection for All” was held at Rajshahi University (RU) to raise awareness among young people about the environment.
Nearly seven hundred students from 13 educational institutions of 8 Districts of Rajshahi Division took part at the Olympiad organized at Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium of the university on Saturday.
Former ambassador and writer, Anwar-Ul-Alam; General Secretary of BAPA, Abdul Matin; Joint Secretary of BAPA, Architect Iqbal Habib; Rajshahi Divisional Forest Officer, Molla Rejaul Islam and RU VC Muhammad Mijan Uddin attended the occasion while convener of Environment Olympiad Organizing Committee of Rajshahi, Principal Ali Reza Muhammad Abdul Majid chaired the program.
Nine participants were nominated as the champion and one as the champion of the champion from existing lectures organized by BAPA and Rajshahi Divisional Olympiad Organizing Committee.
The champion of the champion from College level is Jitu Pramanik, student of Rajshahi Polytechnic and the champion of the champion from University level is Noor Alam, student of Rajshahi University.
The special honor was given to these two educational institutions for their contribution in environmental protection.
