Environ-friendly financing for sustainable dev stressed

Speakers at a workshop on Saturday stressed the need for ensuring environment-friendly financing for sustainable development at the spate of climate change vulnerability in Bangladesh.
“Climate Change in Bangladesh is an extremely crucial issue and the nation is most vulnerable to the impacts of it. . . There is no alternative to ensure a sustainable development for our existence at this situation,” Power Division Joint-Secretary Mohammad Alauddin said while inaugurating a two-day workshop in city, said a press release.
He also laid emphasis on the coordination among the government, Bangladesh Bank and other financial institutions in this connection.
Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) in collaboration of Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA) and GIZ organized the workshop on “Green Banking for Sustainable Energy Development” at Mirpur here with coordinator of GIZ programme Al Modassir Bin Anam in the chair.
