Campus Report :
The Entrance test of Masters and PhD programme of South Asian University (SAU) was held on Sunday under supervision of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka. The entrance test was held simultaneously throughout the SAARC region in the same time and date.
University Grants Commission of Bangladesh conducted the admission test. Prof Abdul Mannan, Chairman, UGC, Dr Md. Khaled, Secretary, UGC, Dr Md. Fakhrul Islam, Joint-Secretary, UGC and Md. Shahin Siraj, PS to the Chairman (Deputy Secretary), UGC among others visited the examination center.
A total of 168 Bangladeshi students participated in the examination for the disciplines of Development Economics, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Applied Mathematics, Sociology, International Relations and Legal Studies. The students, who will be qualified in the examination and get into admited, will receive ten thousand Rupees per month as scholarship.
It may be mentioned that, South Asian University is an international university established by the Governments of the eight member nations of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) viz. Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. SAU started its activities from the year of 2010. The university currently functions from New Delhi, India.
