Development activists and academics at adiscussion stressed the need for protecting the rights and developing the livelihood conditions of ethnic minorities living in the country’s northwest region.
They said the ethnic people were always deprived of land rights, food, healthcare, education and cultural facilities, so the government should take effective steps to ensure their rights apart from meeting their other demands.
The discussion was arranged on Shahmukhdum Degree College premises in Rajshahi on Monday marking the silver jubilee celebration of Jatiya Adibashi Parishad (JAP).
