Ensuring quality edn for development emphasized

Fisheries and Livestock Minister Naryan Chandra Chanda underlined the need for ensuring quality education for the young learners saying the students should be groomed properly to lead the nation in future.
The minister said this on Friday while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony marking the 31st anniversary of Khulna Public College and reunion of its ex-students.
Narayan said one of the major goals of the present government was to enhance standard of education and the students needed to be given quality education. The students, he said, would play vital roles for turning Bangladesh into a developed country.
Employment opportunities, the minister said, should be created both at private and public sector.
The minister laid stress on information and communication technology based education keeping in view the latest global scenario.
Vice-President of Public College Governing Body Lokman Hossain presided over the function. Principal of the school Lt. Col. Md. Zahangir Alam, secretary general of the function celebration parishad Wali-ul-Alam Shaon, ex-vice principal Sirazul Islam and ex-student Yasin Arafat Lenin, addressed, among others.
Earlier, the minister led a colourful procession.
