Health experts at a workshop have stressed on integrated nutrition service delivery at all health service providing establishments to improve nutritional status of backward urban mothers, babies and children.
They expressed the view at the workshop on ‘Coordination with stakeholders to integrate nutrition service delivery and accountability’ held recently at the conference room of Rangpur City Corporation. The Department of Public Health of RpCC organised the event with UNICEF assistance for high officials, physicians and nurses of all government and private sector hospitals and other health service providing establishments of Rangpur city.
Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa attended the workshop as the chief guest with Chief Executive Officer of RpCC Akhter Hossain Azad in the chair.
Civil Surgeon of Rangpur Dr. Abu Md Zakirul Islam as special guest addressed the workshop moderated by Inspector of the Department of Health of RpCC Abdul Kaiyum.
Head of the Department of Public Health of RpCC Dr Kamruzzaman Ibne Taz discussed goals and objectives of the workshop and nutritional status of women, babies, adolescents and children living in slum areas of Rangpur city. The Civil Surgeon laid emphasis on proper coordination among authorities of Rangpur Medical College Hospital, others hospitals, clinics and heath service providing centres of Rangpur city to improve nutritional status of backward urban population.
The chief guest urged officials, physicians and nurses of public and private sector health service providing organisations to reach integrated nutritional services to urban poor for attaining sustainable developments goals on way to build a healthier Bangladesh.
