Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Mohammad Sayedul Haq has directed the concerned officials to ensure the standards of animal products so that the country can achieve recognition from national and international levels in this regard.
“The present government headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to strengthen veterinary services in the country and the country has already achieved a tremendous success in the livestock sector,” said the minister.
Sayedul Haq was addressing as chief guest a review meeting on the activities of veterinary services in Bangladesh in the conference room of the ministry recently.
The World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock (MoFL) jointly organized the meeting. State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayan Chandra Chanda spoke as the special guest while Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Selina Afroza presided over the meeting, The meeting discussed the evaluation report on veterinary services of 2011 in presence of a three-member OIE delegation led by John Waver.
