Risingbd.com :The High Court (HC) directed the authorities concerned to take adequate safety measures in the Moghbazaar-Mouchak flyover area to avoid accidents.The HC bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice Krishna Debnath passed the order after hearing a writ petition in this regard on Sunday. The court also issued a rule upon the authorities concerned and the construction company to explain in four weeks as to why they should not be directed to give compensation to the family member of Rabbi Ahmed Emon, a construction worker who died after an iron rod fell on his head, on March 16. Supreme Court Lawyer Amit Das Gupta submitted the petition on March 17 seeking necessary order from the HC to direct the government and construction officials in compensating Emon’s family.Emon had been working on the Eskaton construction site of the flyover, when the accident happened.He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
