Ensure safe migration of workforces abroad

Speakers at the concluding ceremony of a training workshop have stressed for ensuring safer migration of the workforces aboard through comprehensive efforts of all stakeholders in creating public awareness.
They put importance on making the migration system for overseas job-seekers easier using information & communication technologies to enhance export of human resources to further strengthen national economy for keeping remittance inflow increasing.
BRAC organised the training workshop on ‘Safe Migration’ for members of the Migration Forum and journalists of Mithapukur upazila at its Mithapukur Regional Office on Thursday under the Migration Programme in Mithapukur upazila.
Senior Field Coordinator of BRAC Morshed Alam conducted the daylong training workshop as the main resource person.
Moderated by Accounts Officer of BRAC Abdul Motaleb, its Mithapukur Upazila Communication Officer coordinated the training workshop facilitated by its Rangpur Office under its Migration Programme.
While addressing the concluding ceremony, the speakers said BRAC has been working for raising skill and expertise of the overseas job-seekers by creating awareness so that the common people were not cheated or harassed while migration.
They also narrated as how some overseas job-seekers were cheated when they tried to go abroad for job through the local brokers due to their lack of adequate knowledge about the safer migration process.
They also put importance on turning the huge population into skilled human resources and discussed various issues and procedures to be followed by the overseas job-seekers to avoid cheating and harassment before departing for abroad.
They called upon the overseas job-seekers for availing the huge facilities being provided by the present government to ensure safer migration aboard for enhancing national economy through keeping remittance inflow increasing.
