“I expect you (BSMMU) to set a model of patient friendly atmosphere (to be replicated by all hospitals),” President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin quoted the President as saying when an 11-member BSMMU delegation led by its Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Quamrul Hasan Khan made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban.
He said the delegation submitted the president the university’s annual report at Bangabhaban here.
The Bangabhaba spokesman said the President also instructed the BSMMU authorities to strengthen research activities alongside ensuring quality treatment for the patients.
“He (President) also asked them to make it sure that the nurses and technical persons of the university maintain patient friend manners,” Abedin said.
During the meeting, he said the delegation apprised the President of the different aspects of the report and future development programmes of the university.
They informed the President that BSMMU has introduced master’s course in nursing.
They highlighted the residential problem of doctors and other staff and sought the President’s cooperation in solving it. Secretaries concerned to the President were present.
