Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu has stressed on ensuring international standard quality industries to face the challenges of globalisation.
“The domestic goods is gradually strengthening its position in international trade,” he said this while addressing a discussion on “International Metrology Day-2016” at the headquarters of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI)in the city, said a press release.
The slogan of the day is “Measurements in a Dynamic World”.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman khan kamal and Senior Secretary of Industries Ministry M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan attended the discussion as special guests.
Amu said there is no alternative to maintaining international standard quality in industries to create demand and acceptance of goods in the competitive global market.
He called upon the industrialists, entrepreneurs, businesspersons and all concerned for maintaining desired quality in the industries to boost up economy.
BSTI is making relentless efforts to make effective the newly innovative standards and parameters in the country, he added.
Asaduzzaman khan kamal said BSTI is essential to enhance production of quality goods and expand country’s business, trade and commerce in the world.
BSTI Director General Iqramul Haque presided over the meeting.
