Ensure democratic environment for fair politics, says B Chowdhury

Former President Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury has said a peaceful and a democratic environment would have to be created in the country for doing fair politics.
“If a peaceful and a democratic environment are created, people will be encouraged to franchise their voting rights. And the dream of participatory elections will come true,” he said while addressing an iftar party at a city hotel recently.
Badruddoza, also President of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh, said as a serious solidarity crisis is now prevailing among the politicians, it would have a negative impact on country’s common people.
“Besides, attacking political remarks against each other will also divide the country. As a result, instead of competitive politics, a politics of vengeance will be established in the country,” he said.
Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh hosted the iftar party.
Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh Secretary General Major (Retd) Abdul Mannan, Joint Secretary General Mahi Chowdhury and other leaders were also present.
A former Adviser to the caretaker government Barrister Mainul Hosein, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President ASM Abdur Rob and leaders of different political parties took part in the iftar party.
