Enriching Bengali literature thru’ innovative contributions stressed

Literary and cultural personalities at a discussion laid emphasis on enriching Bengali literature and culture through innovative contribution to eliminate social curses like militancy and terrorism.
They came up with the opinion at the discussion organised by Abhijatrik Sahitya Sangskriti Sangsad, Rangpur (ASSSR) at its office recently in celebration of the 40th founding anniversary of the reputed literary and cultural organisation.
The ASSSR chalked out elaborate programmes, including rally of literary personalities, discussion, recitation of poems and cultural function.
Rangpur Regional Deputy Director of Bangladesh Betar Dr Harun Ar Rashid as the chief guest inaugurated the celebration by cutting a cake along with ASSSR executives and invited guests.
With President of ASSSR Advocate M A Basher Tipu in the chair, its Vice-president Tayebur Rahman Babu, General Secretary Sayeed Sahedul Islam, language movement veteran Mir Anisul Haque Payara, among others, addressed.
A large number of writers, poets, literary and cultural personalities, civil society members, socio-cultural activists, academicians and local elite attended the functions.
The speakers narrated literary and cultural works of brilliant sons of the soil in enriching Bengali literature to portray the nature, human society, its joys, sorrows and philosophical aspects.
The chief guest urged the poets, writers and cultural personalities for more innovative contributions to enrich Bengali literature and culture further in building a peaceful and developed society free from terrorism and militancy.
