England XI beat Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) XI by four wickets in the lone practice one-day match at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first, BCB XI piled up a fighting total of 309 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
In reply, England XI reached the winning target in 46.1 overs scoring 313 for the loss of six wickets.
Opener Imrul Kayes hit a marvelous 121 from 91 balls. His wonderful innings was studded with six sixes and 11 fours.
Mushfiqur Rahim notched up a fine 51 off 57 balls including five fours while Nasir Hossain hit a captain’s knock of 46 from 45 balls featuring four fours and a sixer.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto was the other notable scorer for BCB XI who scored 36 of 46 balls with four fours.
CR Woakes of England XI grabbed three wickets at the cost of 52 runs while BA Stokes and DJ Willey begged a pair of wickets each conceding 36 and 63 runs respectively.
Besides, Adil Rashid took one wicket for 76 runs.
Later, Wicketkeeper-batsman Jose Buttler and Moen Ali played the key role for England XI’s victory. They put on together 139 runs for the sixth wicket partnership before Moen Ali was caught by Ebadat Hossain off Sanjamul Islam when England XI’s total 309 for the loss of six wickets.
Jose Buttler remained unbeaten with 80. His 64-ball innings was laced with four sixes and three fours.
Moen Ali hammered a quick-fire 70 from 51 balls featuring eight fours and two sixes.
JM Vince was the other remarkable run getter for England XI who scored a polished 48 from 39 balls including eight fours.
Besides, BM Duckett, Jason Roy and BA Stokes added 29, 28 and 28 runs respectively to the England XI’s total.
Eabadat Hossain bagged a couple of wickets at the cost of 26 runs.
Besides, Sanjamul Islam, Shuvagata Hom, Al-Amin Hossain and Kamrul Islam Rabbi took one wicket each for 23, 42, 64 and 72 runs respectively.
