Office of Career Services & Alumni Relations (OCSAR) and School of Engineering and Computer Science (SECS) of BRAC University organized a Round Table Discussion on “The Need for Industry-University Collaboration in the Field of Engineering and Computer Science” as part of their first ever departmental Career Fair titled “Engineering and Computer Science Career Fair 2015 (ECSCF’15)” on Thursday at the GDLN Centre of the university.
Prof Syed Saad Andaleeb, Vice Chancellor, BRAC University was present in the discussion as key speaker. He requested the industry to contribute in academic purpose as well as to the society. He also emphasized on research, which can be done with collaboration of Industry and academics.
Among others, from BRAC University and Industry Khan AN Murshid (Moderator), Director, Office of Career Services and Alumni Relations (OCSAR), Prof Md. Haider Ali, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Prof AA Ziauddin Ahmad, Chairperson, Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, BRAC University, Mojahedul Hoque Abul Hasanat, Chief Technology Officer, Therap (BD) Ltd, Syed Roquibul Ahsan, Head of Solutions Development (SD), BRAC IT Services Ltd were also present in the discussion.
The purpose of this roundtable discussion was to generate an effective interface between graduating students and ‘talent hunting’ employers by means of creating a ‘learning exchange platform’ so that graduates can learn about industry needs and employers can learn about BRAC University graduates, their aspirations and assess their relevant skills level and competencies.
