BNP Vice-Chairman Enam Ahmed Chowdhury on Wednesday night joined Awami League after meeting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Enam Ahmed Chowdhury greeted Prime Minister with a bouquet of flowers and joined the ruling party, said Ashraful Alam Khokon, Deputy Press Secretary to the Prime Minister.
“Enam Ahmed Chowdhury said that he has firm faith in Sheikh Hasina’s dynamic leadership,” Khokon said.
Sources said, the former bureaucrat, Chowdhury was hoping to get nomination from the BNP to run for Sylhet-1 parliamentary seat. He was named in the primary list of BNP nominees, but the party had not given him nomination finally.
