A group of 4th class employees vandalised Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) gymnasium, used as poll center, after announcing the result of 4th class employee association poll on Wednesday.
The employees are the supporters of president candidate Md Shahidul Haque Milon.
BAU authority suspended all the activities for unidentified period of the association due to damage of university property and creating unstable condition on the campus, said a release signed by BAU Registrar Abdul Khaleque.
Sources said, election of 4th class employee association body was held at BAU Gymnasium from 9:00am to 3:00pm on Wednesday. After counting the ballots, among the president candidates, Abdul Khaleque got 261, Md Shahidul Haque Milon got 262 and Md Kazimuddin got 254 votes. At that time Abdul Khaleque demanded recounting of ballots but Milon pressured the election commission to announce the result immediately.
