Chattogram Bureau :
An emergency meeting over construction of elevated expressway from Lalkhan Bazar to Shah Amanat International Airport was held at Chattogram Bandar Bhaban on Monday with Port Chairman Rear Admiral M Shahjahan in the chair.
The meeting following the tripartite discussion with the Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) and Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) has been decided to adjust the distance of span from Lalkhan Bazar to Shah Amanat International Airport.
It has also been decided to make soundproof high fencing to ensure safety on the side, to coordinate the traffic department of Chattogram Port and CMP for smooth traffic management during construction and to make temporary shift to CPA gates for truck-lorries plying at the existing gates of the port.
The meeting also decided not to acquire of about 4 acres of land in Chattogram Port and about two and a half acres private lands for the expressway. This will save CDA about Tk 400 crores.
Chairman of CDA Zahirul Alam Dobhas and Commander of Bangladesh Navy Chittagong Naval Area Rear Admiral M Mozammel Haque were present at the meeting held at the Board Room of Bandar Bhaban.
