While talking to this correspondent , aspirant MP candidate from Bangladesh Awami League Md Niaz Morshed Elite said, I had been involved in students politics and associated with different socio-cultural organisations since long .From my position, I have done a lot for the people of my constituency and trying to provide service at my best effort .
Elite who is also Member of International Affairs Sub-committee of Bangladesh Awami League further said, I will seek nomination in the upcoming election , if Prime Minister and Bangladesh Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina give me a chance , I will work for the people as well as the development of the area , otherwise I will work for the party nominated candidate .
Elite hailed from a reputed Muslim family and his father Md Monirul Islam was an eminent freedom fighter and established businessman in Mirsarai Upazila . He is an efficient organiser and hold vital positions in various organisations particularly founder president of Chattogram Khulshi Club Ltd , Chairman of Brothers Union Cricket Committee , President of Human Rights Commission , Chattogram North Unit , founder president of Junior Chamber Chattogram Cosmopolitan , Chief Coordinator , Bangladesh Dava Federation , First Joint Coordinator and Suchinta Foundation , Chattogram Division .
Elite did his BBA Degree from North South University in 2007 and engaged himself in students politics from class ten . He was repressed by BNP-Jamaat activists .
On the other hand, Awami League Presidium Member and Minister for Housing and Public Works Engineer Mosharraf Hossain is a incumbent MP from this constituency . He is reportedly trying to ensure his son Mahabubur Rahma’s nomination from this constituency amid various allegations against him .
Occupying of land specially owned by Hindu community at Mirsari Special Export Processing Zone is serious allegation against him.
Besides, conflict between former upazila chairman Alhaj Giasuddin and ruling party MP is a setback to win the next election .
