Elections of two of the biggest associations of the entertainment industry, Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association and Actors’ Equity Bangladesh were held at BFDC and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy respectively in the capital on Friday. Votes were casted from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the respective venues.
Ilias Kanchan and Nipun’s panel contested against Misha Sawdagor and Zayed Khan’s panel in the Film Artistes’ Association elections. Artistes gathered at the BFDC since morning to cast their votes.
The Film Artistes’ Association has 428 voters. Pirzada Shahidul Harun was their chief election commissioner. Zahid Hossain and BH Nishan were the co-election commissioners, while director Sohanur Rahman Sohan was the chairman for their appeal board.
On the other hand, the biggest association for television artistes, Actors’ Equity BD, hosted their election in a grand manner.
Ahsan Habib Nasim who contested for the post of President and Rawnak Hasan who contested for the post of General Secretary, along with many others. The Actors’ Equity have 48 candidates with 748 voters. The candidates contested for 21 positions.
Noted actor Khairul Alam Sabuj was their chief election commissioner, while Mamunur Rashid performed duties in their appeal board.
