An elderly woman was killed as a portion of a roof collapsed on her in Chandmari Matiakhali area of the city early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Sahida Begum, 70.
Police said Sahida used to live on the ground floor of a two-storey building owned by MD Turan.
A portion of the roof fell on her when she was asleep, leaving her critically injured.
After being rescued, she was rushed to Khulna General Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
