An elderly person died at Napora area under Banshkhali upazila here on Saturday morning when the branch of a big tree fell upon him.
The deceased was identified as Muhammad Islam, 65, hailed from the same upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Banshkhali Police Station Swapan Kumar Majumder said when inspecting the cutting of one of his sold trees, a large branch suddenly fell upon him in the morning around 10:00am. Seriously injured Islam was rushed to the Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
