Elderly journo passes away

Enamul Haque, permanent member of Chittagong Press Club and senior sub-editor of Dainik Kornophuli, a regional daily of the port city, died at his village home at Dakshin Modia of Chagalnaiya upazila under Feni on Friday evening.
He was 56.
He was suffering from hypertension, diabetics and kidney related prolonged and complicated diseases. He is survived by host of relatives and admirers including wife, four sons and two daughters to mourn his death. Enamul Haq started his career as assistant editor of ‘Dainik Swadinata’, another regional daily of the port city, in 1974. Then he joined ‘Dainik Nayabangla’,’Dainik Eshan’ and lastly worked in Daily Kornophuly. He was elected executive council member at the biennial election of the Chittagong Union of Journalist (CUJ) in 2014. Chittagong Press Club President Kalim Sarwar, its acting general secretary Chowdhury Farid, CUJ president Ejaj Yousufi, its general secretary Hasan Ferdous, TV Journalist Association President Shamsul Haque Haidary, its general secretary Chowdhury Farid, Chittagong Journalist Cooperative Housing Society Chairman Mainuddin Quadery Shawkat and its general secretary Morshed Alam expressed deep shock at the death of Enamul Haque.
The journalist leaders also conveyed their sympathy to the bereaved family members of the deceased journalist.
