An elderly couple was stabbed to death by some miscreants at Madhya Bazar in Durgapur upazila on Friday morning. The deceased were identified as Arun Saha, 75, a cloth store owner and his wife Hena Rani Saha, 65. Officer-in-charge of Durgapur Police Station Rezaul Islam said neighbours of the couple found their door closed in the morning. As they did not get any response from inside till afternoon, they informed police. Police then appeared at the spot around 3.30pm, broke into the room and found the couple’s bodies lying in a pool of blood. Later, police sent the bodies to Sadar Hospital for autopsy. The couple used to live in their house alone as their two sons lives in Dhaka, the OC added. The reason behind the murder could not be known yet. — Netrakona, Oct 23 (UNB)
